Shannon McDuffie, Atlanta Bankruptcy Attorney and Divorce Attorney

As an Atlanta Bankruptcy attorney and Divorce attorney, my practice focuses exclusively on assisting clients seeking help getting a fresh start.  Some clients need me to help them get their finances in order. Other clients need assistance getting their divorce done right.

My focus as your attorney is helping you envision and get yourself to a better tomorrow. I work with you to make decisions today that will can help you get to where you want to be in the future.

Firm Philosophy

I don’t take every client’s bankruptcy case. Filing bankruptcy is the most powerful thing a person can do to rewrite their financial future and fix things. But if I think you can avoid filing bankruptcy, if I don’t think you should file bankruptcy, I will tell you up front-before you’ve paid me.

I want my divorce clients to resolve their issues outside of a courtroom, and I will push you to think about why this is important.  I will push you to adopt the philosophy that settling with the assistance of a skilled attorney will allow you to control the outcome better than will allowing the judge to decide. If we can resolve your divorce outside of the courtroom, that is what we will do.

When you hire my office to represent you you’ll get access to me when you need it. Yes, even when my office is closed and yes even via my cell phone and text. I want you to understand what’s going on with your case and I want you to have access to me as you need it.

Take Your Time and Get it Right

I’ll encourage you to take your time deciding what to do–before you do it.  I want you to be an informed client, and I want you to take sure-steps as you move forward with your life. Let’s make that plan together.

Unlike many other attorneys, I’m not going to rush you out of my office. I’m not going to cut you off when you have questions. I’m not going to force you to decide what you’ll do until you are ready.

I know you have questions when considering a big life decision such as bankruptcy or divorce.  I invite you to take some time reading my blog to see if I’ve written about questions you have.

Strategy is important

We want you to be able to look back on your decision to take this step and say “Yes, I made the right call” to the big questions you have now: Was filing bankruptcy your best option? Did you file bankruptcy at the right time to discharge your tax debts? Did you have enough debt to warrant filing? Could you have avoided filing? Is your house safe from your creditors? Are you paying the right amount of child support? Did you get the visitation schedule that works best for you and your kids? Are you getting the right amount of child support? Are you able to live the life that you want to live? Let’s make today’s decisions carefully so that you can answer yes to all of those questions.
